I'm very well actually, just sitting around at work as one does; draining resources from very large companies haha.

Please be patient. This update may appear to take a long time to complete. It is updating and installing very large data.

As you might have heard, Monte Cristo has been working on a semi-sequel to their city simulation game, City Life. Well, Simtropolis has had the privilege of interviewing Philippe Da Silva on the upcoming game, called Cities Unlimited Here’s a quote: QUOTE Dirk: What were some of the feedback that you received from players of City Life? Philippe: To summarize they loved the 3D, the freedom of construction and the Building Customization Editor of the Deluxe (world edition) version. They want more transport, graphical realism and financial management. Not surprisingly, this is exactly what many SimCity fans want, and we’re very excited that Monte Cristo is up to the challenge. In addition, they are looking into adding weather effects to the game, something that has long been the desire of virtual city builders. Along with the one existing screenshot we’ve seen of Cities Unlimited, the interview also includes a new one, featuring amazing graphics. Check it out! ![]() And here's the old screenshot, for reference: ![]() Wow, this looks amazing! Looks real good. It's got the right graphics and look for density euro neighborhoods. I'm excited for some diagonal and curved roadways and eventually, seeing what a more modern CBD will look like in this.

This looks VERY promising, and I'm eager to see more. I'm quite impressed with the graphics and the street level perspectives. Very cool!

I'm really impressed with what I'm seeing. The graphics are very impressive, especially considering how early they are (you can still see through the windows to the sky in many buildings =P). Time to read the Simtropolis interview

Yeah, the graphics certainly look AMAZING. I wonder if those weather effects will be superficial or if they'll actually interact with the city though?

I can deal with them being superficial. Interaction would be quite a bonus. I'm already planning on getting a new gaming computer for when this (and Spore) come out, but I don't want everybody to have to get the super high-end computer to play it.

They mentioned they had "all the graphics features turned on", so they'll probably have lots of options for tuning things down so that lower end computers can run it.

QUOTE(muffinpunk787 @ Jun 20 2007, 08:13 AM) hmmm it will be interesting to see the competition between the two games.. If both of them keep going down the paths they're on right now, there won't BE any competition between them. This one will demolish Societies by gobbling up the large existing SimCity fanbase that is disappointed with how Societies appears to be reinventing *cough*ruining*cough* the SimCity franchise. -------------------- My Sims 2 Stuff! - Updated 6/25/10

No release date for Cities Unlimited has been announced yet. November is a date philippe mentioned for the release of City Life 2008 (which is a totally different game)
