§1. It is strictly forbidden to use excessive profanity. If you feel the urge to swear use symbols like "&%*$#!@^!".
§2. Personal discussions belong outside the forum or in the Shoutbox. Remember that this place is not a chat server.
§3. It is strictly forbidden to personally attack another user(s). You have the right to express your opinion, but do not offend the other user(s) while doing that.
§4. Members are free to express their personal views and opinions, subject to §5 of these rules, as part of a post in the forums, or in the member's signatures, avatars, or custom titles. This includes members who are also Simphoni staff and/or members of the ownership group of Simphoni Networks, LLC. Such views and opinions are understood to be those of the members themselves, not acting as representatives of Simphoni or Simphoni Networks, LLC. Neither Simphoni nor Simphoni Networks, LLC officially support any social cause or political candidate(s). Simphoni may, from time to time, accept paid advertising for political candidates without regard to members' and staffs' agreement the candidate(s) position(s), and/or may display Public Service Announcements supporting social causes as a community services, and as prescribed by Google Adsense guidelines.
§5. Views and opinions that are considered excessively flammatory, racist, sexist or hateful may be moderated or deleted. The staff is trying to provide a fairly open environment where posters can share their views, but if their views, or the way they are expressed, is inflammatory or offensive to other posters or groups of people in general, then action will be taken against the offender.
§6. Discussions or photos that are deemed pornographic by the staff will be subject to moderation or deletion.
§7. Spamming is strictly forbidden. You may not post the same message twice on the forums. Pick the most appropriate forum and post one message there and make sure the forum you're posting to is of the same topic as your post.
§8. Anyone who posts just to increase their Forum stats or posts topics out of boredom risks having their topics closed, removed and/or their membership revoked.
§9. English is the "official" language of the forums. You're not allowed to base an entire thread on another language but you may post short sentences or remarks in other languages if it serves a purpose.
§10. Any topic that condones, exploits, or makes use of illegal material is illegal here as well. Asking for or distributing illegal software is strictly forbidden.
§11. Please don't advertise products, services, or web sites. You may only post about your personal web site in Websites and Internet Games.
§12. Multiple accounts are not allowed. Users who might be trying to pull this trick risk having their membership in these forums revoked.
§13. Signatures may not be bigger than 600 pixels wide and 125 pixels tall, nor are they allowed to be over 50 KB in file size. The same rules that apply on the forums in general also applies to signatures. Users violating this rule will see their signatures removed without notice by the staff.
§14. Leave the Moderating to the Admins and Moderators. They are responsible for interpreting and enforcing the site's rules, not you. If you see something that you feel requires action by a moderator, use the Report button located beneath every post to notify the moderators of the forum in question.
§15. The shoutbox on the main forum index page of Simphoni is to be used as a immediate, ephemeral chat area. Discussions there are not archived for members' access, although on an as-needed basis the administrators can recover logs in case of complaints regarding abuse by a member. Most of the normal rules apply in chat that apply in other areas of Simphoni: No flaming, pornography, profanity or piracy. The only real difference is that there is no anti-spam rule in the shoutbox. It is real-time chat, and posts therin need not be substantial in content.
§16. You must be at least 14 years of age or to have your legal guardian's permission to register at this site.
Forum related questions should be directed to the Forum Administrator or the appropriate Moderator(s).
Have fun!
