You may have noticed activity on the frontpage has gone down a bit over the last two weeks. This is due to real life issues catching up with the people keeping the site up to date. Editor in Chief Gil is on holidays, so he’s not around to kick our behinds into gear either
We’ll try to catch up on the newest ASAP though, so stay tuned!

Forumer djVanDrake shares the exciting news with us that Take Two Interactive will do a remake of the classic Sid Meier game Colonization. Colonization was a specialised version of Civilization released in 1994 allowing a player to colonize “a” or “the” new world in a replay of the settling of the North American continent. According to Sid Meier himself:
We’ve received many requests from fans over the years to bring back Colonization and now seemed to be the perfect time to do that. The Civilization IV engine provided a fantastic foundation for a new Colonization experience and allowed us to create something great for both new players and long time fans of the game.
Looks like the perfect new meat for our Empire Building Games forum! Forumer usman found an article over at WorthPlaying that contains some screenshots.
We’ve got an outstanding episode prepared for you guys, so make sure you tune in this week! Dane from St. Louis, United States joins us to discuss the SIMphoni Mid-Term Awards and many other topics.

Today, the 26th of May 2008, will go down as an historic day for Simphoni, as we welcomed our 15000th member. The honour of being that 15000th goes to .ZodiaC. . Our member The Monkeys Uncle, designer of the current Simphoni theme, was kind enough to provide us with a fitting banner, that we will put on the site as soon as time permits.
On behalf of the Simphoni staff, thanks to all of you who make Simphoni such a great place, and congratulations to all of us!
