IGN reports that City Life 2008 will be released in the US in May 2008 by Paradox Interactive. Even though the release will be months behind the release in Europe back in November, this is good news for gamers in the US. There were some rumours that the game would not be released there at all. According to IGN the game will be available both in retail stores and as a download.

For those inspired by our member 6underground’s new CL2008 City Journal about Cohen City and want to check out City Life 2008 themselves before running to the stores to buy it, there now is a multilingual demo available. The demo is a hefty download weighing in at 490MB. It enables you to play on one map with three out of six social groups.

A new edition of City Life is set to be released in Europe this weekend.  It is City Life 2008 (CL2008), and it is the second in the City Life series from Monte Cristo Games of Paris, France.  Jirnsum of SIMphoni found several retailers preparing to sell CL2008 beginning November 23, but SIMphoni has been unable as yet to determine a planned date for release in North America.

Forumer and Monte Cristo employee dasilva has said on the official Cities Unlimited forum that the release of City Life 2008 is now planned for November 23rd in France. Release dates in other countries are still unknown:

The game is to be released in Nov 23 in France, but we still don’t have any date for other countries: it depends on our local distributors planning for other countries.
