Electronic Arts has announced a special version of Spore for the “ultimate Spore fan”. According to the press release this limited edition special box will contain the “Making of Spore” DVD, “How to Build a Better Being” DVD from the National Geographic Channel, (NGC) “The Art of Spore” hardback mini-book, a fold-out Spore poster, and a premium 100-page Galactic Handbook.

According to Patrick Buechner, vice president of marketing at Maxis:

The Spore Galactic Edition is the ultimate backstage pass for the Spore universe. The Spore Galactic Edition is an incredible collection of art, video and behind-the-scenes access to the development team for fans, along with some of the coolest, most collectable packaging in years.

Currently the Galactic Version is available for pre-order at multiple US online shops for around 80USD. No news yet on whether this version will be availble outside the USA, but all indications this is a US only deal.

Too bad, because it really looks cool.
